Management of the Alveolar Crest for Implant Therapy

The loss of volume of the alveolar ridge following tooth extraction especially in the anterior regions of the mouth is a commonly accepted problem. The management and preservation of the alveolar crest is essential for the esthetic outcome of implant treatment. A sufficient quantity and quality of bone around the implant is very important for long-term stable results and the pink esthetics. Controversies and latest literature will be explained in this presentation. Additionally there will be some insight in new augmentation techniques and materials.
